The Computer Science Department at the Government Arts College for Men(A),Kadapa provides leading programs in computer science whose graduates are globally recognized as innovative and well-prepared computing professionals.

Our Mission

The Department's mission is to provide students and faculty with an open environment that fosters professional and personal growth. We will prepare our students for successful careers in the computing professions through flexible programs of study that can be adapted to support individual career goals.

We will provide students with:

  • A strong theoretical and practical background across the computer science discipline with an emphasis on software development;
  • An understanding of their professional, ethical responsibilities;
  • Opportunities for research;
  • A rich skill set and practical experience enabling them to become valuable and creative contributors immediately upon graduation;
  • The skills necessary to continue their education, to grow professionally and to push the boundaries of conventional thinking long after graduation.

Furthermore, the Department will help faculty foster the growth and strength of its programs. In this regard, we will:

  • Adapt curriculum to complement the evolution of computer technology and the computing profession;
  • Accommodate the varied learning styles of a diverse student population;

HISTORY :

The Department of Computer was established in the year 1998 with a view to create awareness in the public about the Minerals, Exploration and Exploitation of Minerals and Ground water due to Cuddapah District is having of world famous Barites deposits, Indian famous Asbestos deposits, State famous Limestone deposits and also number of minor minerals. The department possesses 2,400 Sq.Ft area consisting of two fully equipped laboratories and with adequate furniture. The subjects offer with geology combinations are:
1). Mathematics - Physics- Computer Science (English Medium)
2). Mathematics – Statistics – Computer Science (English Medium)
3). Mathematics – Electronics – Computer Science (English Medium)
4). B.Com Computer Applications ( English Medium)

There are 500 students with Computer combination groups. They belong to various social, economic and cultural backgrounds. They are mostly from rural areas. Their grasping abilities are also different. Most of them have passed their Intermediate Examination compartmentally.
Language Proficiency: Students know different languages viz. Telugu, Hindi, Urdu and English. They can speak, write, and read Telugu and English.
