Government College for men (A) has established Grievance and Redressal Cell with a commitment to provide a safe, fair and harmonious learning and working environment in our college. Grievance Redressal Cell was established in accordance with the University Grants Commission regulations 2012 (The Gazette of India, March 23-29, 2013), and Article XXV of the constitution for handling day-to-day grievances related to students, and staff members. Grievance and Redressal Cell facilitates the resolution of grievances in a fair and impartial manner.  The main function of the cell is to redress the   grievances /complaints lodged by its stake holders. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the members in person. Grievance and Redressal Cell facilitates the resolution of grievances in a fair and impartial manner.

The cell enables students to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the college. “Grievances and Redressal Cell” enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly and confidential manner. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to heard and right to be treated without bias. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell at Administrative Block”.   1. To encourage the students to express their problems /grievances frankly and freely and without any fear of being victimized.

  2. Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial student-student relationship and student teacher relationship.

  3. Advising Students of the College to respect the right and dignity of one another and show. Utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift arises.

  4. Advising all the Students to refrain from inciting Students against other Students, teachers and College administration

5 .Advising all staffs to be affectionate to the Students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.

Functions of the cell:

  1. To provide a neutral, confidential and supportive environment for members of the campus community.

  2. To promote awareness about punishments, legal acts, laws and sections against eve teasing, domestic violence, Anti ragging etc by conducting legal awareness programs by famous advocates.

  3. To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a respectful and safe campus environment.

  4. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the principal.

  5. The main function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student/staff and judge its merit.

  6. To ensure effective solution to the students grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

  7. The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.

  8. In most of the cases the grievances are heard in person and find solutions instantly, depending upon the seriousness of the issue.

  9. The cell will resolve the grievances by organizing counseling programs to the pupil on whom the complaint was lodged.

  10. The cell will give report to the principal about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases if any which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

 The cell seeks to inform the campus community of their right to a respectful work and learning environment .It believes that if  we practice respect ,exercise empathy in our interactions with others so we do not hurt anyone through what we say or do then we can create a campus that is free of  any kind of harassment.

The cell achieves the above mentioned goals through:

  1. By displaying legal acts, sections against various kind of grievances

  2. By organizing awareness programs on eve teasing, anti Ragging etc by inviting famous lawyers or police officers.

  3. Counselling- confidential counseling service as it provides a safe to speak about the incident and how it has affected the victim because sexual harassment cases are rarely reported and is a sensitive issue.

Procedure for lodging complaint 

The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing and drop in the Grievance Box or handover to the officer – in charge of the Cell.  The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.

FOLLOW UP & MONITORING

 Grievance and Redressal Cell shall coordinate, monitor and ensure redressal within the stipulated time. Depending up on the seriousness of grievance the Grievance and Redressal Cell will follow them up regularly till their final disposal by way of reminders.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL

The workshops/training programs attended:        

  1. Smt. M. Revathi, Coordinator WEC, along with four students participated in a three day National Women’s Parliament organized by AP Legislative Assembly which the theam of ‘Empowering Women-Strenghthing Democracy’ from 10-02-2016 to 12-02-2016 at IbrahimPatnam, Vijawada.      

  2. Two girl students 1. N. Sravana Gowrie, III BZC, 2. D. Praveen Devi III BZC under the guidance of Smt. B.Rajeswari participated in two day work shop sponsored by Girls in Tech fen in collaboration with Microsoft Office and NASSCOM fen from 21-06-2017 to 22-06-2017 at Microsoft Campus, Hyderabad.

  3. Smt. N. Sivaparvathi, Present WEC Coordinator published a Book-“Women in India through the Age-A Glance”.

  4. Dr. Y. Savitri, Lecturer in Zoology, received “Junior Scientist Award” from National Environmental Science Academy, India 2016.

  5. Smt. N. Sivaparvathi, Lecturer in History, Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell Participated in the Two Day National Seminar (UGC Sponsored) on “Women Stalwarts of India-Role in National Development”, Organized by Women Empowerment Cell, Anantapur.

WEC PROGRAMMES

The Women Empowerment Cell has been organizing awareness programmes, guest lectures on Legal Acts, Health and Hygiene, Career guidance, Personality Development etc., and interactive sessions with experts in the relevant fields to motivate and create awareness among girl students inception.

The Cell has been organizing Legal awareness programmes every year in view of women related important days by inviting eminent advocates like Smt. M.Chandrakantamma, Senior Lawyer, kadapa in 2012, Mrs. Malathi, Senior Civil Judge, kadapa in 2015, Smt. P. Chandravadana, Senior Advocate, kadapa in 2016, Smt. K. Shirisha Member, Dist.Consumer Forum, Kadapa in 2017, M. Shanta M.A., L.L.B, Advocate, kadapa, in 2018.

The Cell has been organizing health awareness programmes to enlighten the women students on the commonest aliments in view such as Anemia, Gynic problems and various Cancers and also to suggest suitable remedies by inviting Senior famous doctors in kadapa.  The Cell invited Dr. T. Lakshmi Susheela, MS, DG, Assistant Professor in RIMS, and Kadapa in 13-07-2012.  Dr. Archana, Radiologist, Kadapa in 04-10-2014, Dr. Praneeth, MS (Ortho) in 24-08-2015, Dr. Sreelakshmi, MS (Gynic) in 2016, Dr. Thulasamma, Senior Doctor, Kadapa in 14-02-2017.

Dr.A.S.Padma, the first lady of the district was invited as Chief Guest to sensitize the girl students relating to the education and in acquiring jobs in various fields in 14.09.2013.

The Women Empowerment Cell conducted a session on Communication skills by    M.Himabindu,Lecturer in S.V.Degree College,Kadapa as a part of  activity in 2014.

 The cell organized  an awareness program on self employment & education loans for women students by Mr.Sailendra,Chief Manager,Andhra Pragathi Grammena Bank,Kadapa 13-10-2015.

The Women Empowerment Cell falicitated  Smt.Malleswari,Regional Joint Director,Collegiate Education,Kadapa in view of International Womens’s Day on 8th March 2016

 The cell organized  an awareness program on personality development by Dr. K. Lalitha, Associate Professor, Dept.of Psychology, Y.V.U. Kadapa.

The women empowerment cell organized Rallies against  inequality,female foeticide, discriminationetc and  raised slogans to sensitize the public about the need for equality for women in the society  .

As a part of WEC activity the cell has conducted Rally in view of National Women’s Fitness Day.

On the occasion of World”s AIDS DAY the women staff and students organised a rally to mark on the importance of the Day on 01-12-2016.

 WEC Organized  group discutions,elocution, essay writng, rangoli etc competions to the women students to  develop competitive spirit in women students  and distributing prizes to the winners.

The W.E.C organized an awareness programme on ‘Women Trafficking’ on 02-08-2017. Smt. N. Parveen Bhanu, member, A.P. Mahila Commission was invited as Chief Guest to enlighten the women staff and girl students on women traffickingand other women issues.

 

Smt. N.Sivaparvathi, Coordinator, W.E.C. and Smt. B.Rajeswari member W.E.C. participated  in the Inaguaration of  “Kishori Vikasam” Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls in A.P organized by D.C.P. Unit, Kadapa.on 17-08-2017.

 As a part of Celebration of “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” week from 9th to 14th  October, Women Empowerment  Cell Coordinator Smt. N. Sivaparvathi organized an awareness programme on Child Protection day  on 11-10-2017. , principal Dr .N.Subbanarasaiah addressing the gathering

WEC organized an awareness programme on ‘Yoga and Meditation’.  Dr. T. Jayarami Reddy, Dept. of Telugu explained the Importance of yoga in day to day life on 07.12.2017..

Awareness and Rally organized by WEC in view of Janmabhumi-Manavoor-2018 on Vidyavikasam-Mahilavikasam at putlampalli village  on 05-01-2018.   

Sri G. Srinivas, District Judge, District Court, Kadapa and District Legal Cell Authority Secretary, Sri U.B. Prasad gave counseling to both men and women students to grow equal for this holistic development in view of ‘International Women’s Day’ on 08-03-2018.

Rakshita Team(A special Protection Team of 8 Women Canstables and 2 Men canstables formed to solve women related problems) visited Govt. College for Men (A), Kadapa, on 25-07-2018.  They enlightened our men four students about eve-teasing, cyber crimes, child marriages, female feticide, ragging and domestic violence and relative punishments/laws/acts towards the respective crimes, some students interacted with the Rakshita Team and find solutions from them.

Arti Vijaya Foundation Trust, a non prophatable welfare organization  visited Govt. College for Men (A), Kadapa on 27-07-2018.  The members of AVFT gathered all the women staff and women students they enlightened theirs aims and goals their trust.  The main aim of foundation is to stop child marriages , to protect child labour, human trafficking , free training classes  to women to provide self economic support etc.  AVFT with the economic support of Europion Union organized Manabidda, Betibachao-Betipadhao programmes to increase girls ratio in our district.
