MANA TV:-

MANA TV telecasts Educational Programmes in tune with the needs of the students’ advance academic needs and demands of the job market updates.  MANA TV telecast educational programmes to degree students through Live and Recorded presentations.  A telecast of these programmes is from SAPNET studios.

Commissionerate of Collegiate Education:

MANA TV Cell: - Govt. of Andhra Pradesh had entered in to a MOU with ISRO for establishing multi-channel Satellite network and using the KU-BAND for promoting and the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the overall development of the State.  It has been designated as MANA TV.

            The ICT department of the state Government has constituted SAPNET (Society of Andhra Pradesh Network) to undertake Production and Telecasting of Video lessons on behalf of all the wings of education.  In the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education a separate wing called MANA TV Cell is established to administer the programmes of MANA TV, Content generation, Correspondence and Finance Management of the Budget allotted, etc.,

Importance of MANA TV or Model:-

  1. Covers 143 Degree Colleges and can communicate (1 way video and 2 way Audio)

  2. Provides uniform teaching, one individual teacher’s expertise can be viewed and shared by all colleges.

  3. Gives scope to improve the skills of teachers by observing by other expert teachers.

  4. Provides opportunity to teach with visuals and animations.

  5. A Platform to explore the potentials of the teachers and students too.

Objectives OR Missions:

  • To help students in rural, backward and remote areas where there is shortage of faculty and infrastructure facilities.

  • To provide uniform teaching to all the students.

  • To supplement class room teaching for better understanding and grasping of the subject.

  • To provide access for students to interact with Commissioner, Subject Experts, Personality Development Trainers.

  • To impart counseling to the students for vertical & horizontal mobility.

  • To conduct Special live programmes and teleconferences with experts.

Achievements:-

            The Department produced videocassettes to telecast through channel 1 and interactive lessons through channel 2.  The record versions of interactive lessons were also telecasted through channel.

            The Department conducted teleconferences (one way video and two ways audio) where in Commissioner of Collegiate Education interacted with the Principals, Lecturers and students of all Govt. Colleges.  This is a tool to interact simultaneously with all and to review on academic programmes.

Special live programmes were conducted on/by,

  1. Communicative Language Teaching by English Language Fellow Experts from RELO (Regional English Language Office), Delhi

  2. B.V. Pattabhi Ram, Educational Psychologist, Personality Development Counselor and Writer.

  3. Gandhian Philosophy by Sri Subhash Roy from National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) and Dr. Rajender Reddy from Gandhi Prathistan Sanstan, Hyd.

  4. AIDS Awareness by Dr. Rama Krishna, Deputy Director, APSACS; Mrs. Nirupama Rao, consultant, APSACS.

  5. Career opportunities in GVK EMRI by Sri.Venkat.Ch, EMRI Country Head and Special Live on Infosys Placement Drive.

  6. The Department Prepared a DVD named Veekshana by compiling nearly 330 PPTs of Presentations in different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Micro biology, Computer Science, Economics, English and Soft Skills.

MANA TV at Govt. College for Men (A), Kadapa

            MANA TV had established in this Institution in the year 2002.  It has been serving since its establishment.  MANA TV has been functioning as per the schedule provided by the MANA TV Cell, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.  MANA TV Telecasts have been receiving good feedback for their uniqueness in Teaching-Learning process and importance of the topics choosen.

            From this Institution number of Lecturers acted as Subject Experts or Presenters, prepared video lessons and give lectures through Live Telecast.  Some of the Lecturers who give their lectures through Live Telecast are Dr. G. Pakardin, Lecturer in Physics, Smt P. Kalpana, Lecturer in Biotechnology, ILN Chandra Sekhara Rao, Lecturer in History, Dr. T. Madhu Sudhana,  Lecturer in Commerce, Dr. P. Ravi Sekhar, Lecturer in Zoology, Dr. Y. Savithri, Lecturer in Zoology and a student G. Madhu Sudhan. 

            Right from the beginning, the topic concerned Lecturers and the students actively viewed and participated in the Telecasts of MANA TV lessons. The students and Lecturers were interacted with the subject experts through the phone.  The suggestions and remarks of the students and lecturers on the programees were recorded in the feedback report.  The attendance of the students were maintain by the MANA TV Coordinator as well as subject Lecturers along with feedback report.  The consolidated feedback reports were sent to MANA TV Cell Commissonerate of Collegiate Education, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
